According to Smith Travel Research, Michigan’s hotel occupancy rate for January through March 2011, wa 47.7%, up 11% from the same period in 2011. The national average was 54.l9%, up 5.76% from the same period last year.
“As we saw in 2010, we currently are below the national average on both measures, but our gaines continue to outpace the national average” says George Zimmerman, Vice President, Travel Michigan.
